Stampin' Up! Best of Birthdays Card Duo

Let's kick off Thursday with a new Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge (PPA154).  I needed two more masculine birthday cards this month and created the first with the luscious palette suggested by the PPA!

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

• A simply delightful birthday stamp set!  Best of Birthdays, the January release from the Stampin' Up! "Best of 25 Years" stamp promotion, was used for both cards.

• I used a 1 1/4" Square Punch to pop out the row of squares.  Simple, graphic, perfect for a masculine card.

• In the Island Indigo and Pumpkin Pie version, I cropped the sentiment with the coordinating Stampin' Up! Extra-Large Oval Punch and paper snipped/layered a Pumpkin Pie "birthday."  "Birthday" is boosted up on Stampin' Dimensionals for a 3-D effect.
• Stampin' Up! Baker's Twine is my way of adding ribbon to a masculine card without making it too frilly.  Calypso Coral and Island Indigo Baker's Twine match the card stock beautifully.

Spec-tacular Masculine Birthday Card

I have a number of birthday cards to make this month for the men in my life and have been anxious to use the Stampin' Up! Spec-tacular Single Stamp.  I combined the little glasses of the stamp with a clean, graphic style that is very "man-friendly."   This card and stamp can work for a "thank you" or Father's Day card, too.

This week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO283) was the foundation of my card.  Note that I flipped it 90 degrees.

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

• Simply fun!  I stamped the Spec-tacular stamp in Early Espresso and then (partially) Real Red.  One pair of glasses from Real Red was snipped out and popped up on slivers of Stampin' Dimensionals.

• Using a Stampin' Up! Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker, I isolated just the words "one in a million" (eliminating "that makes you") on the sentiment.  See the One in a Million stamp set images below.

• Real Red Core'dinations Card Stock was used as the background.  It has a textured finish, perfect for a masculine card.  View more of my Stampin' Up! Masculine Card Samples.

• The final coordinating touch is a bit of Real Red Polka Dot Parade Designer Series Paper on the envelope flap.

A Stroll Down Sycamore Street

Take a stroll with me today down Sycamore Street using FREE products from the Stampin' Up! • Quick and simple coordination.  Friendship Preserves stamp set, Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies all work together like a happy family!

• To thread the ribbon through the button holes, I snipped the ends to a skinny point. 
• I used Pool Party Stampin' Emboss Powder to create the "HELLO" sentiment.  Love that color!
• The card base measures 5 x 5" square.  I used the stripe pattern from Sycamore Street Designer Series Paper to create a custom 5 1/4" square envelope using the Stampin' Up! Simply Scored Scoring Tool and Simply Scored Diagonal plate.  Print my Simply Scored Envelope Measurement Chart.

Building a Pattern with Stampin' Up! Punches

After a nasty bout with the flu (still lingering but ooooh, so much improved), I had a chance to play with my paper and ink again!  Getting my mojo going was definitely good medicine.

Henry Says is "Unforgettable!"

I created these simple valentines for the wee ones in my family.  They have a cross country trip ahead of them along with yummy treats from Auntie Mary!  The Henry Says stamp set (Stampin' Up! Spring Catalog) offers this sweet elephant and a variety of sayings. 

OK . . .  Henry became "Henrietta" for the little girls (plus bling)!  Paper Snips were my secret weapon in cutting out the elephant.  They navigate those curves with ease!

Patterned Paper can be adorable when stamped with line images.  I used Stampin' Up! More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper for the card above!
