Build-A-Bear Single Ladies

Whether you prefer Beyonce's or Justin Timberlake's Saturday Night Live version of "Single Ladies," these charming Build-A-Bear "single ladies" are strutting their stuff today.  Since the Grammy Awards aired, this song relentlessly runs through my head . . . "oh, oh, oh," here we go again . . . "All the Single Ladies, All the Single Ladies . . . "

Whenever I use the Stampin' Up! Build-A-Bear dies, I feel like a kiddo assembling paper dolls.  It's great fun to mix and match designer paper, clothing and accessories.  Each card today makes a "fashion statement" and is personalized for my grandnieces, Melina and Eleni.  Let's start with Melina's card today.  I'll share Eleni's details tomorrow.

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

• A light bulb moment for me!  I realized I could snip out the house from Welcome Neighbor Designer Series (a Sale-A-Bration free gift) and "open" the door.  It's the perfect scale next to my bear for a play house.
• Layering over the Top Note Die (in Bermuda Bay Textured Card Stock), gives a zippy contrast.
• Small designer series prints work beautifully to mirror fabric.  To dress my bear, I used a wee heart pattern from Welcome Neighbor Designer Series Paper (shirt) and a polka dot from Bermuda Bay Designer Series (skirt).
• Need a quick hat?  I adhered Large and Small Ovals of Pumpkin Pie card stock with a couple Stampin' Dimensionals.  A flower (Boho Blossoms Punch) and bling (Circle Rhinestone Brad), complete the look.
• Get a big, bold monogram with Stampin' Up!'s Exclusive Alphabet Simple Bigz Dies.  I cut my "m" twice.  First in Welcome Neighbor paper and second in On Board Chipboard.  Precise fit and 3-D vavoom!

PPA14 In the Pink (New Video)

• The triple heart in Stampin' Up!'s Love Your Much stamp set coordinates with the Heart to Heart Punch.  I adhered the resulting hearts as a background on my "Kindness" card.
• No need to be timid.  Mixing different shades of the same color (in this case pink) creates a jazzy pizzazz.  Try it with greens, too.  Very cool.
• Stamping the same color ink on the same color card stock products a soft and pretty look.
• Sneak Peek:  The "love" sentiment on the Matchbox is from the Tiny Tags stamp set.  It will be available in January, 2010.

I decided my Build-A-Bear Girl deserved a companion.  Meet her beary handsome guy.  He looks pretty dapper in his Pawsitively Prints Designer Paper (available Sept. 1) jacket and pants. I had a ball mixing and matching his "wardrobe" options.

Build-A-Bear Girl

Today marks the final Mojo Monday 100th anniversary sketch celebration.  This MOJOMARY sketch is my very own (note that I flipped it).  What an honor to be part of Julee's Mojo Maker team and celebration!

Isn't this Build-A-Bear girl sweet?  She is simple and incredibly fun to put together, too.  Stampin' Up! has created exclusive Build-A-Bear Dies, stamp sets and coordinating designer paper for the Holiday Mini Catalog (available Sept. 1).  Be ready to say "wow!"

• The new Bigz Bear Die offers the bear die cut (4 3/4" high), facial parts (I used Whisper White and Chocolate Chip Textured) and signature Build-A-Bear heart (Pretty in Pink Textured).  TIP:  After cutting the bear in Creamy Caramel Textured card stock, I used card stock scraps to cut the mouth, nose, eyes and  heart.
• The Bigz Bear Essentials Die allowed me to add the shirt, skirt, cuffs and shoes . . . it also includes a jacket, pants and second pair of shoes for a boy counterpart (or a girl, depending on how you want to dress her :)
• TIP:  The Pawsitively Prints Designer Series Paper offers tiny fabric-like prints, ideal for making "clothes."  Pawsitively Prints colors are Pretty in Pink, Old Olive, Ballet Blue, So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie.
• I used the designer paper for her purse, shirt, shoes and the 1 1/4" squares in the background.
• The purse, bow, belt and heart "buckle" are from the Beary Girl Sizzlets Die. 
• The interior gets a splash of pizzazz, too. The "Happy Bearthday" sentiment is from Beary Nice Wishes (available Sept. 1)
