I purchased my “fish” through CVS but recommend the Swedish Fish brand vs. CVS alternative–the brand candy seems to be fresher. I suggest 5 per bag for these particular treats. Hope that helps.

Hi Karen: “The rule” applies to all candies, including things like chipped M & M’s (any degree of candy “damage”). Make sense? Sometimes Swedish fish stick together, break or there are bits (not fully formed fish), which also qualify for “the rule.” Hugs, M

This kit made me re-subscribe to Paper Pumpkin in January. And, to my delight, I was shipped this kit right away instead of having to wait until this month to start getting my monthly kits! 🙂 And, by the way, we have that same rule in our house about broken candies … and any cookies stored on top of the refrigerator overnight are calorie free the next day as calories are afraid of heights and jump off while we sleep!
