Welcome to the February Pals Blog Hop. This month we are sharing what we love – our favorite Stampin’ Up! products and our favorite crafting techniques.
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Nicole Watt at Pixel Maven’s Retreat. Use the full lineup below to move along from blog to blog so you see all of the new projects.
I challenged myself to create a valentine without any pink or red. My card design for the Pals blog hop is a mix of Very Vanilla, Night of Navy and the stunning floral die cut that comes with the Stampin’ Up! Artisan Embellishments Kit.
STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- The “love life” sentiment (I’m sure diggin’ that font) is from A Happy Thing stamp set, one of the free gifts offered as part of the Stampin’ Up! Sale-A-Bration (PDF) promotion.
- More than a valentine. This card could easily work for wedding, anniversary, friendship and more.
- A single rhinestone accents the heart (Sweetheart Punch).
- The Night of Navy 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon lends such a rich touch.
- To dress up the Medium Very Vanilla Envelope, I cropped a perfectly sized envelope liner (Envelope Liner Framelits Dies) in Silver Foil
- Hover and Pin it! Here’s a photo showing key products for today’s card that you can save or pin to Pinterest. See ALL my product photos in one spot on my How to Make Simple Cards board on Pinterest.

I would purchase that die cut in a heartbeat, too, Mary. We can hope. I DID suggest it to them based on all this positive feedback!
That is definitely a “WOW” card. I love the combo of vanilla and night of navy, and the die cut makes it just stunning. I wish Stampin’ Up would come out with a thinlit for those flowers. I would purchase it in a heartbeat. I want more than the few you get in the Artisan Embellish Kit. Thanks for sharing your great ideas.
Mary, I love this! Super elegant and I love the colors put together! Lovely work!
just the simple act of offsetting the floral panel instead of centering it makes this card stand out – gorgeous Mary
Hi Ruth: The design comes pre-cut in the Artisan Embellishment Kit (you get two plus other pretty goodies). M
Thanks so much for your kind comments. Non-traditional valentines are so fun!
This card has the WOW factor. The Night of Navy is so striking against the Very Vanilla and then to add the stencil which has a glimmer to it – again WOW. Your designs are always an inspiration.
Oh Mary, I have seen many non-traditional Valentine cards but by far this is the best I’ve seen….I love your choice to use Night of Navy…this is truly a card that took my breath away for a few seconds….I will definitely have to CASE this one…awesome!
Just a super beautiful card ,as you say suitable for any occasion. Just where can you purchase this magical die for this card? Love it.
Elegance at it’s best! I am a huge Navy fan and that simple bow is perfection! I agree, that font and the sentiment is oh so true!
Holy Buckets of Elegance! TFS
Stunning and surprisingly versitle. All the occasions you mentioned would be great ways to use this card. Nicely done!
Think how pretty silver foil, soft pink, black or even red would look in place of the Night of Navy!
Beautiful Mary!
Drop dead gorgeous, Mary!
So classy and elegant. Love the navy blue.
Mary, your cards are so elegant. This one is stunning! I love the non-traditional colors for a Valentine. Beautiful job.

Great idea! I would LOVE a die cut like this. Ill suggest it to Stampin Up! pronto!
Thanks. This was one of those cards that the minute I added the floral die cut, fell together. I love it when a concept flows like that!
It’s beautiful and I love the Rose cut-out. I was contemplating getting the Embellishment kit and now I am for sure. Thanks for sharing.

Dreamy card my friend…….
