This fresh and feminine card was created especially for my grandniece, Eleni. I’m hoping it will inspire a big birthday smile!
I used the design from this week’s Pals Paper Arts Sketch Challenge (PPA240). The three circles immediately prompted visions of balloons! See what the rest of the Pals Paper Arts Resident Artists have dreamed up with this sketch HERE!
STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- Simple! The Stampin’ Up! Balloon Framelits Dies make it quick and easy to create my balloon trio.
- Gold foil (Gold Foil Sheets) for the center balloon and a gold stripe pattern from Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper (stripe layer measures 2″ x 5″) turn up the “glam” factor! I love it with the two pinks (Blushing Bride and Strawberry Slush).
- Save 15%! Purchase the Balloon Framelits Dies with the coordinating Celebrate Today Photopolymer (clear) Stamp Set and save 15% (#138869). The polka dots on the Blushing Bride Balloon and “birthday” sentiment are both from the stamp set. See all stamp images in my supplies recipe below.
- Three pieces of Blushing Bride Baker’s Twine were tied together in a bow and then adhered below each balloon.
- The Stampin’ Up! Envelope Liners Framelits Dies crop the perfect liner (Gold Soiree Specialty Designer Series Paper) for my Medium Whisper White Envelope.
- Hover and Pin it! Here’s a photo showing key products for today’s card that you can save or pin to Pinterest. See ALL my product photos in one spot on my How to Make Simple Cards board on Pinterest.

I like the pink and gold together. Not something I would have thought of, but it looks great! Love the strings too.
Thanks, Michelle. I think the little details bring every card together!
I love the color combination and the perfect tying together of the three balloons. As always your little details give the card the wow factor.
The gold balloon and the crisp sentiment are my favorite elements of this fun card, Mary!
I hear its pretty chilly where you are, Maria. Thanks for your kind comments!
Oh Mary, couldn’t get to post a comment yesterday, so cold up here, maybe the internet was frozen or something. I love this card, so pretty with pink and gold, a winning combination. Love the balloons, this will bring a smile to anyone who receives it.
Thank you for sharing.
that warms my heart, Miss Katy
Beautiful combination of pinks with the gold! Love the card and will be pinning it for CASEing… reminds me of how I found you… 🙂
Loving that big gold balloon! Pretty card!
Love the pink and gold, lovely card and it absolutely has to bring a birthday smile!
Thats certainly part of the beauty of handmade cards, Robbye. We can customize them to the recipient (favorite colors, age, gender, theme). Thanks for your comment!
Thanks for your comments. They keep me inspired!
So fresh and fun! I love these colors together!
Gorgeous card, Mary! I, too, love the color combo with the gold. It’s very striking!
What girl, large or small, doesn’t like sparkle? I can’t think of one because we all like a little sparkle on our special day. Those balloon framelits are so much fun and I hope they never go away. I’m sure your grandniece will love this card , it’s bright, happy and has a little sparkle from the gold foil paper, but most importantly you made it just for her so it’s unique.
Thanks, Donna. I think she will like the fun colors and shiny gold!
SUCH a pretty card and color combo Mary, I love it and I am sure your grandniece will, too! Thanks for sharing! Donna (SC)
OH SO GIRLIE! This card would make me SMILE BIG……Sure your little grandniece is going to LOVE IT.
Thanks, Linda. I decided on the 2 pinks pretty quickly but experimented with the third balloon (Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Pistachio Pudding). Gold really popped and when I grabbed the gold stripe DSP, I knew it would be just the right combination!
This is such a sweet, fun card. I love the gold foil balloon and accents. It makes the whole card pop. TFS
