Simple and SO versatile! This card fits the bill for everything from birthday, to love, to the 4th of July. I used this week’s Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge (PPA207) as my inspiration. Since the Stampin’ Up! color Midnight Muse has retired, ANY blue will do–I chose Night of Navy! PLAY ALONG HERE!STAMPIN’ PRETTY TIPS:
- The new Stampin’ Up! Hearts Border Punch is “true love!”
- I cropped the border (four in a row) on the Real Red layer and used the loose hearts to decorate the Night of Navy layer and Crumb Cake Medium Envelope.
- “Let’s Celebrate” looks crisp in Night of Navy ink. It’s from the new Sumthin’ Sumthin’ stamp set.
- Absolutely divine! The new 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon (available in twelve Stampin’ Up! colors) ties easily and lays flat. It made the list of My Favorite Things in the 2014-2015 Catalog.
- I cropped the sentiment with a Stampin’ Up! 1 3/4″ Circle Punch and matted it on a Night of Navy Circle created with the new 2″ Circle Punch.

Hi Carol . . . I dont think it would be too difficult to snip. The Sweetheart Punch is a good one for your wish list, however! Hugs, M
Loving the simple beauty of this card, Mary – though I don’t have the new heart punch, I will try finding another heart punch and see if I can manage a similar style! TFS~
Such a clean & cute card! I wish I thought of using Crumb Cake as a base. I love the combo.
Wonderful idea, Maria. I love to see my readers inspired by this card!
Love it Mary, what a perfectly CAS card but with a bit of a kick, the two rows of little hearts really are a great detail. I will be CASEing this beauty for Operation Write Home, another fabulous organization that provides handmade cards for our Troops overseas so they can send them back to their families and friends. Thank you for the inspiration and for sharing.
This is gorgeous! The rich colors and the simple layout work so well together! I also love the hearts just a few at a time, instead of going across the whole edge!
Hi Diane: I punched the Real Red piece of card stock and adhered the 4 little red hearts this created to the bottom of the Night of Navy piece of card stock. The punch can only go so deep so I couldnt punch the same pattern on the Navy piece where the little hearts are. If you look at the hearts border punch shown in todays post, this may make more sense. M
Never mind . . . I had a “DUH!” moment!!
I love this!
Mary, this may be a dumb question but, how were you able to punch only 4 hearts???
A little background on this card. I was experimenting with the heart border punch and it just fell into place with the pieces. Love it when that happens. Thanks for the kind feedback!
Mary, I SALUTE you! This card is bold and crisp, and, as you mention, a classic design for so many occasions. Absolutely inspirational.
Mary great card… however.. did you have to fold your blue piece to get the hearts on the bottom??? I don’t know how else you get that? Please answer would like the punch not sure if it is not possible without piecing?
Very patriotic card Mary. Love everything about Red, White and Blue!
Love your idea and cause, Patricia!
Wonderfully balanced card Mary b
absolutely perfectly clean and beautiful looking. Thank you, it’s on my list to make. You did it again. 🙂
Perfect timing as I was trying to think of a patriotic Thank You card to make for friends who recently donated to the Wounded Warrior campaign that my 13 year old was raising money for. This will do the trick nicely! As always thank you for the wonderful ideas and resources.
Perfect! I will be caseing this beauty!
Great card! Your design is clean and crisp. The crumb cake base is a nice addition. Love it, love it!
