Final Day Stampin' Up! Mini & Summer Smooches Offer

As the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog comes to a close today (on-line orders must be completed by 11:50 p.m. MST), I thought I would highlight one of my favorite Mini Catalog stamp sets--You're My Type.  The rubber stamp images offer a big dose of cleverness and the typewriter is oh, so retro cool!  It seems right at home on today's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO239). 

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

• Black Stampin' Emboss Powder gives the typewriter a lacquered finish.

• A quick smooch of the S.W.A.K. single stamp transforms this card into a message of love (male or female recipient).
• To soften the intensity of the "lipstick," I inked it in Riding Hood Red and "stamped it off" once on a piece of scrap paper before adding it to the typewriter. 
• The S.W.A.K stamp is on the Stampin' Up! Retiring Stamp List (Alphabetical) and only available through 5/31.
• Speaking of smooches, the Stampin' Up! Summer Smooches Special ends today, too!
• Adding a strip of Calypso Coral cardstock gives a rich, color blocked look.  

• The envelope was created using my Stampin' Up! Simply Scored Scoring Tool and Simply Scored Diagonal Plate.  Here's my Simply Scored Diagonal Plate Envelope Chart for measurements.  Please note that I tweaked the sizes for creating an envelope for this 5 1/4" square card to accommodate more embellishments (room for a thicker card).  I think you'll like this size better than the original version.

Pals Guest Stamper: Liane A.

Liane Albert is one of the newer members of my Stampin' Pretty Pals.  Despite being new, she was game to  share her love of stamping and create a card for today's Stampin' Pretty Pals Guest Stamper spot.  I'm so proud to feature her sweet and simple style.  What a great option for whipping up a quick card or to offer as a make and take project.  She plans to do a blog soon . . . but hasn't crossed that bridge yet.  I'll keep you posted.

FROM LIANE:  Liane used Melon Mambo and Old Olive Designer Series Paper along with corresponding Stampin' Write Markers.  Easy Events is one of her favorite stamp sets and anchors the look.  The "from my heart" sentiment is a partial stamp from P.S. I Love You.  Stampin' Dimensionals add a little 3-D and A Silver Mini Brad connects the flowers punched with the Boho Blossoms Punch (retiring May 31).

Change Is Good: Stampin' Up! Retiring Accessories List

Many of you are excited but a bit overwhelmed by the size of the STAMPIN' UP! RETIRING ACCESSORIES LIST. WOWZA!  I put together a brief overview with details of what I have gathered from Stampin' Up!  I'm hoping this will lessen the confusion.

Please keep in mind that the retiring products are ONLY AVAILABLE WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.  Many items are discounted!  That means items will sell out so PLEASE DON'T WAIT!

STAMPIN' UP! RETIRING DEFINITIVELY DECORATIVE LIST

When you look at the retired accessories list, you'll note that all of our Stampin' Pads are listed. This is for two reasons: (1) Craft Stampin' Pads will now only be available in black and white; and (2) we are introducing a new Firm Foam pad in our Classic Stampin' Pads with the 2012-2013 annual catalog.

The Firm Foam pads offer better ink coverage and, in turn, better stamped images. They will be available for customer order on June 1.

In addition, please note the following changes in the new catalog, which explain some of the products appearing on the retired list:

• Only select Stampin' Write Markers will be available individually (Stampin' Write Markers in color collections will continue to be offered)
• 12" x 12" Textured Card Stock will no longer be offered.
• 12" x 12" Smooth Card Stock will only be available in select individual colors and color collections.
• Any item with an asterisk next to it is being reconfigured.  An example of this could be repackaging, as in the example above of the markers.
• Craft Ink Pads (other than black or white per above) and Craft Refills will no longer be offered.
• Classic Ink Refills (other than the retiring 2010-2012 In Colors) will still be available.
• Stampin' Spots are being discontinued.  Stampin' Up! may possibly reconfigure & sell some of the Classic Ink Spots.
• Other than the retiring 2010-2012 In Colors, the Stampin' Up! colors are NOT retiring.

IMPORTANT CORRECTION: 

Two items that were included on the Retiring Accessories List are not actually retiring. The lists have been updated s to remove these items.

Mojo Monday Friend Quilt Card

I'm so excited to share today's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO238), since it's based one of my personal designs!  The essence of this "quilt" card is the Stampin' Up! 1 1/4" Square Punch and With All My Heart stamp set.  With All My Heart stamp set (images at the end of this post) is one of 300 Stampin' Up! stamp sets retiring on May 31.  Be sure to purchase it before it's gone!

I don't think my "quilt" design inspiration (from The Company Store) needs much explanation :)

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

• The "flower" stamp from With All My Heart was heat embossed in white on scraps of Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Rich Razzleberry and Island Indigo.
• Each embossed image was cropped with the Stampin' Up! 1 1/4" Square Punch.

• To keep squares lined up, I adhered them to a 3 5/8" x 4 7/8" piece of Whisper White Card Stock.  It's slightly smaller than the total surface area of the squares, which ensures the white card stock is hidden.
• The entire "quilt" is popped up on Stampin' Dimensionals.
• Two Jewels Basic Rhinestones accent the "friend" sentiment.

Retired Accessories List will be released.   Retiring accessories (including the Décor Elements and Simply Adorned lines which are both being discontinued) will only be available while supplies last.  Be ready to order early!  I'll share the list on my blog pronto!
