Here's the "scoop" about my birthday card for my grandnephew, Henry!  I'm confident he will find it delicious.

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

• The pennant triangle has so many uses.  Not only does it work as Henry's birthday banner, it's an ice cream cone (and a Christmas tree--let your imagination run).  NEW PRODUCT ALERT!  Pennant Parade rubber stamp set (used for the "cone" and sentiment) is available July 1.
• NEW PRODUCT ALERT!  What could be easier than popping out perfect pennants with the Petite Pennants Punch.  Available July 1.
• Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper (NEW PRODUCT ALERT--available July 1) offers plenty of patterns that coordinate for a festive look!
• My snippet of paper piercing on the Baja Breeze "tag" is going to have to quality for my PPA100 technique.  However, I used oodles of punches if that qualifies as a technique?
• I find the "wee ones" love having their names on their cards or envelopes.  The Sweet Shoppe Alphabet Lower letters fit perfectly within the 1/2" Circle Punch.  Such an easy way to personalize the pennants and envelope.

Mojo Monday Happiest Birthday Wishes Card

I'm hoping a visit from this handsome owl will deliver a delightful birthday wish.  It was great fun getting this guy "dressed" up using the Stampin' Up! Owl Punch.  He seems quite a home as part of this week's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO197).

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

• The Whisper White card base is 5 1/4" Square.  It's the perfect size to tuck in a Stampin' Up! Whisper White Medium Square Envelope (107289).
• The Whisper White "Happy Birthday" panel is 3" square.
• Offsetting the "pupil" of the owl eyes, Early Espresso over Whisper White (the smallest circles on the Owl Punch) gives the owl a little added expression.  Agree?
• His "vest" coordinates with the charming alphabet background paper.  NEW PRODUCT ALERT!  Both patterns are from Just Add Cake Designer Series Paper.  It's available July 1 when the Stampin' Up! 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalog begins.

Simple Saturday Pocket Card


How about a simple pocket card to kick off the weekend!  The original card idea is from Becky Roberts, a fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. My friend Kadie Labadie shared it with my demonstrator group at our last meeting and we all adored it! 

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

• NEW PRODUCT ALERT!  The Chocolate Bon Bons and sentiment are images from the Sweets for the Sweet rubber stamp set, available July 1 when the Stampin' Up! 2011-2012 Idea Book and Catalog begins.
• Cut Whisper White Card Stock to 3" x 3 1/2".  Stamp and score at 1/2" on the two short and one long side.
• Remove corners to facilitate folds and adhere.

• Notecard:  Cut Whisper White to 2 1/8" x 2 1/4" and adhere to Melon Mambo (2 3/8" x 2 1/2)".
• Punch 1/2 of a 1" circle for opening.
• Punch a 3/4" circle in Chocolate Chip to fold over top of notecard for ribbon.
• The Pretty in Pink 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon is headed for retirement. It is only available while supplies last.  Please see below!

Quilting with Paper

I have had many inquiries from readers about the card above, which I shared on a previous post.  It was a sample from the display board on the Stampin' Up! Alaska cruise--not my creation (as I indicated).  Good news . . . Ellen Smallwood is the designer and she sent me loads of information to help you, too, start "quilting" with paper.  Thanks, Ellen!

You are in for a treat!  It's very apparent that Ellen knows a lot about both paper and quilting.  Note that she didn't embellish the cards . . . which really keeps the quilting aspect front and center for learning.  The next step would be to add pretty buttons, ribbon or the perfect sentiment!

Note the little template she uses for each piece.  It's 1 3/4" from the bottom to the point.

Amazing "fabric" result when embossed with the Stampin' Up! Square Lattice Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (119976). 

She refers to this one as the Mock Wedding Ring.  Stampin' Up! Lattice Bigz Die (115958).

Here are the "leftovers" from cutting the pieces for the Mock Wedding Ring card above.  The embossing folder is "Brocade" from Cuttlebug.

Gorgeous and ready for a simple sentiment or ribbon.

The Stampin' Up! 1 1/4" Square Punch (119865) would make this quilting pattern a snap.

One of my blog readers, Julie Talford, created her own version of Ellen's card without the template.  She improvised with the Stampin' Up! Blossom Petals Builder Punch (121808).  Love it!

Precious Pinwheels

Pinwheels are a hot ticket right now and this one couldn't be simpler using the Sweets for the Sweet stamp set (2011-2012 Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog, available July 1).  This is another Stampin' Up! card design that I assembled on the Alaska Cruise.  I thought you might enjoy it as a sneak peek!
