Simple Saturday Summer Mini Triple Punch

One punch with three settings. Today I introduce you to the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch.  Mix and match, layer or build a fun background like I did for today's Simple Saturday handmade card--all with the same punch.  Starting tomorrow, when the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog goes live, you can order it for yourself.

To get started on today's card, I used this Splitcoaststampers Sketch (SC330).

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

• I love the retro feel of Blushing Bride and Basic Black.  Blushing Bride is a "quiet," ballet shoe pink.  It really pops against black.  However, if you prefer a more traditional look, consider Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip and a neutral of Whisper White or Crumb Cake.
• The layers of three circles on the right were set "off center" to keep the modern vibe going.
• One In Color Glimmer Brad in coordinating Blushing Bride is a soft and pretty accent for the Happy Greetings (Summer Mini Catalog) sentiment.
• The bottom Basic Black Layer was jazzed with the Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Hard to see in the photo.

Sail Away with the PPA

Got button?  This week's Pals Paper Arts Clean and Simple challenge (PPA91) suggests you grab a button(s) and use it on a paper project.  Easy.  I'm also sharing a few sneak peeks of rubber stamps Sail Away, Best Dad Ever (sentiment) and new Baker's Twine in Cherry Cobbler.  All three products will be available May 1 with the launch of the Stampin' Up! • The sails and boat hull were stamped separately and paper snipped (love my  Stampin' Up! Paper Snips for small details) and bumped up on Stampin' Dimensionals.
• This masculine card is destined for my father-in-law.  
• Baker's Twine adds to the nautical feel.  I used a Paper Piercer, the Stampin' Up! Mat Pack Piercing Template and needle to sew up this detail.
• I cropped the card base width to 4 1/8 (1/8" less than a standard A2 Card) so that I could hang the sentiment over the and it would still fit in a Stampin' Up! Whisper White Medium Envelope.

Big Shot Two Tags Bookmarks

I have a fun share for you today of two projects that were sent to me by other papercrafting artists.  Each used the Two Tags Bigz Die (a Stampin' Up! Exclusive for the Big Shot Die-Cut Machine, 115954) to include a bookmark . . . what a thoughtful gift!

This bookmark and the card at the top were sent to me by my SW Stampers Pal, Kadie Labadie.  Isn't the owl a "hoot?"

Mojo On the Grow

Here's another look at a new stamp set from the Stampin' Summer Mini Catalog called On the Grow (available May 1).  It was the perfect scale to show off this week's delightful Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO188).

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

• I dabbed the flowers and leaves with Stampin' Up! Old Olive and Daffodil Delight Watercolor Wonder Crayons and a Blender Pen.  A soft, quick and pretty effect.
• The image was cropped with the 2 1/2" Circle Punch.  To create the 2 3/4" Circle Mat in Daffodil Delight, I used my Circle Scissor Plus and Glass Mat.  Here's a video with my favorite tips on Using the Circle Scissor Plus.
• Basic Pearls Jewels dot the flowers in the images and those created with the Boho Blossoms Punch.  Easy wow!
• My square card base measures 4 1/2" Square.

Pals Guest Stamper Sandie C.

You loved her in this previous Stampin' Pretty post and she's at it again.  Sandie Conner, one of my Stampin' Pretty Pals, is today's guest stamper and has delivered an amazing purse and card combo.  Sandie doesn't have a blog to share with you (although she's kicking the idea around--woo hoo) but did oblige my request to spill the beans on the products.  See the end of my post.

I love how she layered the Four Frames rubber stamp image over the Bliss stamp.  Her use of the Basic Pearls Jewels is fabulous.  Isn't the texture (courtesy of the Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder) on the stripe designer paper smashing!

SANDIE'S TIP:  The card is little and sized to fit in the purse without an envelope.

This purse is trés chic (love the shabby flower) . . . but wait until you see what fits perfectly inside!

Recipe for the Purse

 

In color 6x6 DSP in concord crush

2 strips of Pear Pizzazz CS 1 x 3 1/2, scored at 1/2 inch long way

Tulip embossing folder (emboss the above strips longways)

Pear Pizzazz ribbon or CS for the handle approx. 7 inches long

4 Brads to hold ribbon/cs handle on.

1/2 circle punch with scraps to hide the prongs of the brads

Oval punch for the clasp

Scorer

Velcro dots

 

Flower:

Bigz L die, fun flowers, one of each flower

crimper

glitter brad

jewelry tag punch

tiny tag stamp set

 

SANDIE'S TIP:  Run the cut flowers through the crimper a ton of times to break down the fibers, separate the layers of the cardstock, sponge, crumple and stack back up, punch hole in middle and secure with a brad.

NEW Stampin' Up! Embossing Powder Colors!

The thrill is still alive and well.  Learning how to heat emboss on one of my very first handmade cards and watching the shine and dimension emerge was one of the early "hooks" in my rubber stamp experience. Great news!  When the Summer Mini Catalog debuts on May 1, Stampin' Up! will offer Stampin' Emboss Powders in Tangerine Tango, Wild Wasabi and Melon Mambo.  They are bold and beautiful and the highlight of today's Simple Saturday card.  Let's hope there are more colors to come!

I relied on this Splitcoaststampers sketch challenge (SC329) to get started!  I "cheated" a smidge by incorporating the third rose :)

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

• SNEAK PEEK ALERT!  Not only am I tempting you with the Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi Stampin' Emboss Powders, feast your eyes on two new stamp sets:  Flower Fest and Happy Greetings.  All these items will be available to customers on May 1.

• I shortened the front right side of my card by about 1/2" and added a Melon Mambo scalloped border.  This produces a whole new look and finish.

PPA90 Stampin' Up! Flower Fest for a Baby Pal

Southwest Stampers Card Ideas Swap

A quick post with lots of great card samples.  I brought home some fabulous Stampin' Up! card ideas from my last Southwest Stampers Meeting (my local group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators).  Enjoy!

New Stampin' Up! Pretty Postage & Punch

Ahoy!  Ready to "sail" into a new week with a fresh Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge (MOJO187) and a little punch art?  After a touch of experimenting with the soon-to-be-released Stampin' Up! Postage Stamp Punch (available May 1 in the Summer Mini Catalog), I came up with a sailboat card idea for my grand nephew's birthday.

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIPS:

• The right sail is simply the Postage Stamp Punch cut in half (diagonally) and the left side is half of the remaining half.
• The little snippet of Daffodil Delight across the the Pear Pizzazz "hull" was created using the the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch.  It's the part you don't normally use.  Sweet accent.
• The large Peach Parfait Scallop was produced with the Tasteful Trim Bigz XL Die.  It's not in the catalog but available in the Stampin' Up! Holiday Mini Catalog Carryover List.
• "24-7" is a sneak peek of the Pretty Postage rubber stamp set, available May 1 in the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalog.

Guest Stamper Veronica McCollum

I get loads of wonderful emails from readers asking about my Stampin' Pretty blog design.  Graphic Designer Veronica McCollum (VK Design) gets the credit.  Wouldn't you know . . . the girl can create beautiful cards, too.  As my Guest Stamper today, Veronica mixes color and sweet details for a delicious handmade card concoction. 

I love how she paper pierced above and below the sentiment and added bling to the birthday cake.  It's the little things that always grab my heart.

Linda's Petal Card Box Easter Tree

My first thought was "total magic!"  My second was "I have to share this idea pronto!!!"  Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Linda Cary Skehan watched this Petal Card Box Video I did previously and added my punch art bunnies and chicks.  However, she took the idea to a whole new place with this Easter tree.  I'm absolutely tickled.

STAMPIN' PRETTY TIP:  A Hershey's Kiss fits inside each box . . . I'm thinking you could do something like this for other holidays, too.  What about hearts for Valentine's Day, shamrocks for St. Pats, red glitter stars for July 4th or maybe an advent tree for the holidays!  Delightful possibilities.
