Rockabilly Daisy Vase

Want to make the easiest vase ever?  Well, grab a Wide Oval Punch and a little Rockabilly Specialty Designer Series Paper.  Punch, snip off the top, flip and add the small piece to the bottom.  This was a big"aha" moment for me!  TIP:  Try the Large Oval Punch the same way for a single stem vase!

I stamped the stem from Fifth Avenue Floral three times on a pretty Kiwi Kiss houndstooth pattern from Urban Oasis Designer Series Paper.  My new vase was layered on top with Stampin' Dimensionals.  The Riding Hood Red flowers were created using a Big Shot and the Bigz Daisies #2 Flower Die.  Aren't they sweet?  The centers are 1/2" circles of Basic Black.

I matted the gingham layer on Basic Black and a Bouquet Designer Button seemed like the perfect touch for the bottom left.  TIP:  A sliver of Basic Black card stock gives a polished  "threaded" look and a Mini Glue Dot keeps the button locked in place.

The sentiment is from the new Oval All stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Mini Catalog.  I stamped it on Riding Hood Red and Whisper White card stock.  The red version was cropped with a Small Oval Punch and the White with a Large Oval Punch.  TIP:  A Stampin' Dimensional under just the right side of the sentiment keeps it propped up and level with the vase.

The horizontal panel features two 1" tall strips of Rockabilly Specialty Designer Series Paper over Basic Black card stock.  The inspiration for my layout comes from today's Splitcoast Sketch Challenge SC224.  All Splitcoast Daily Challenges (and more) are linked on my left side bar (just scroll down a bit).
